Gianfranco Frattini

Gianfranco Frattini was an influential Italian architect and designer, born on May 15, 1926, in Padua, Italy. He graduated from the Politecnico di Milano in 1953 and later became a pivotal figure in the Italian design movement of the late 1950s and 1960s. Frattini's style is often associated with Modernist design, characterized by its clean lines, functionalism, and innovative use of materials.

One of his most notable creations is the Lina Armchair (Model 831), designed in 1955. This armchair, nominated for the prestigious Compasso d'Oro award, features an unusual wood frame that gives it a solid yet lightweight appearance. Another iconic piece by Frattini is the Sesann Sofa, designed in 1970. This sofa, reintroduced by Tacchini in 2015, is celebrated for its bold volumes and elegant, sophisticated design.
